Wisconsin Playground Club --- COVID-19 Update

We want to provide you with an update on all program related activities as we continue to learn more about the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. Our primary focus and concern is to ensure the safety and health of our athletes, families, coaches and staff.

Wisconsin Governor, Tony Evers, has directed state health officials to issue a Stay-at-Home order for Wisconsin prohibiting non-essential travel, with some exceptions, amid the continued spread of COVID-19 in our state.

The order issued by the state Department of Health Services at the direction of the governor, will go into effect at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, and remain in effect until Friday, April 24, unless another order is made in the interim.

Under the order, people don't need permission to leave their homes, but are only allowed to do so for specific things, like going to the grocery store or to the doctor. People will be allowed to exercise outside, but are required to keep six feet between themselves and others, unless they live with the person. Group sports, like basketball, soccer and ultimate frisbee, are banned. Playgrounds are also closed.

Essential businesses and operations, like hospitals, grocery stores, hardware stores and pharmacies, are allowed to continue operations and don’t need any special certification to do so.

Penalties for not complying with the order include a $250 fine or up to 30 days in jail.

Please know that we will resume holding practices and individual workouts as well as normal business operations once we can guarantee the welfare and safety of everyone involved. We will take guidance from local, state and federal health officials as to the most appropriate time to reschedule these affected events within our platform.

We continue to monitor the situation and will make decisions based on the advice of the CDC and government officials.  The safety of our athletes and staff are at the forefront of our concern and will be the driving decision on our go-forward direction the remainder of the 2020 grassroots season.

This is unfamiliar to all involved, and we do not want to present information about rescheduled events that may change in this constantly evolving environment. For this reason, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we collect all information to communicate with you as quickly as possible.

We thank you for your understanding during this challenging time. and look forward to seeing you on the court!
